Difference Between Active Survival Training vs. Other Active Shooter Trainings

Lockdown International's Active Survival: ABC'S Active Threat Response Plan training is an international award-winning course designed to provide and empower individuals with option-based survival skills to stay alive until law enforcement arrives, and ultimately survive any violent incident. This plan can be easily implemented into your organization's Emergency Operation/Action Plan. These are skills that translate to a workplace, school, healthcare facility, place of worship, shopping mall or any other location in which an active threat can be a danger.

What makes Active Survival different from the rest?

Active Survival provides you with knowledge, training, and products to reduce potential security and safety risks you may face. We are the only response plan that is OSHA, NFPA 3000, ADA, and U.S. Government Compliant.

What does OSHA Compliant mean?

Occupational Safety & Health Administration's (OSHA) General Safety Clause in the OSH Act of 1970 states, "each employer shall furnish to each of his employees’ employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees." Workplace violence and active shooters are a recognized hazard.

What does NFPA 3000 compliant mean?

The National Fire Protection Association's NFPA 3000 (PS): Standard for an Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response Program states a public education program shall be implemented to communicate warning signs, survival strategies, bleeding control and recommended equipment. Active Survival provides all these requirements and much more.

What does ADA compliant mean?

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) makes it unlawful employment practices to discriminate against an individual with a disability. It is a violation of the ADA to fail to provide reasonable accommodations during training to the known physical or mental limitations of a qualified individual with a disability. Not all employees can "run" from a recognized hazard.

What does US Government compliant mean?

Active Survival was developed according to recommendations by the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Sestice, U.S. Department of Education, and other state and local government agencies. Other safety and security best practices were incorporated from international organizations.

When it comes to preparing for stressful situations, like an active shooter scenario, we often don’t rise to the level of our expectations; we fall to the level of our training. Again, our goal in active survival courses is to train you to fight or flight safely.

Because we believe this lesson is so powerful in active survival threats, we’ve built this content into our Instructor Course. Lockdown International is dedicated to bringing high quality training like this as well as security products, educational tools, and proactive measures to businesses, schools, and other communities.

We partner with clients to create and implement custom proactive solutions based on their risk assessment.
